Block 2: Mindset & Striking
Now that our Fighters have a solid plan on how to bring balance into their lives, the next step is to learn to visualise and understand how the mind works and controls our behaviour.
We are now ready to take on Block 2 of FCC which is all about striking, mindset and taking action.
Have you ever stopped to think about how everything in your life is created twice?
First, it's created in your thoughts and then it's brought into the physical world. This is true for everything from the smallest action to the biggest goal. If you want something in your life, you have to first create it in your mind. Once you've done that, you can start taking steps to make it a reality. But it all starts with a thought. We need to learn to visualise and see ourselves in possession of what we're trying to achieve.
In this block of FCC we will study the conscious and the subconscious and how the two can be manipulated to help us achieve our goals quickly and easily.
A simplified way of imagining the subconscious mind is to see it as your programmable autopilot. Think about when you first learned how to ride a bike. At the beginning this was a very challenging task; you were 100% focused on the task at hand and using your conscious mind to learn while blocking out any distractions. Then, after weeks of practice, it became second nature to you and at this point it would seem almost impossible for you to unlearn how to ride the bike.
What has happened is that this action has gone from a conscious action to a subconscious action.
Just like you learned how to ride a bike, you can also learn how to do almost anything – as long as you are in the right state of mind to have your subconscious absorb the information.
Executing from a place of Balance and solid grounding so that less energy is exerted to achieve our desired outcomes, we’re teaching our Fighters’ how to box by practicing striking and working on carrying out various boxing combos.
