Block 1: Balance & Footwork
Success in life and the ring starts with having balance.
When all elements and aspects of who we are, are well balanced, we become more steady, confident and powerful.
Grounding and a solid foundation form the very basis of success. We can be sure that the impact of our actions is far superior to when we are unstable and uncertain.
We are able to do more with less, preserving precious energy that is responsible for how far we can go in life and how many rounds we endure in the ring.
For this reason, balance is at the epicentre of this program and that's why we begin the program with balance.
It's no secret that we have recently been experiencing some of the most turbulent times in history. When we get thrust into unpredictable circumstances, our behaviours and actions become more reactive and ad-hoc, leading to fatigue and frustration.
A good boxer understands the importance of Balance, both inside and outside of the ring.
When a fighter is balanced, he is present.
When he is present, he is better able to react and counter his opponent.
For this reason, we’ve devoted the first block of the Fightclub Challenge to Balance whereby our Fighters not only learn how to develop a solid stance in the gym but also look at what affects Balance outside of it.
The point of doing this is to actively look at the events that would otherwise dictate our future and instead address them head-on.
As humans, we all share many similar attributes and sets of values.
You can define values as spokes in your life that guide different aspects of what we deem to be important and worth nurturing.
As we go through and accumulate more experiences, we add spokes to our wheel of life. The most common spokes are:
1. Faith / Vision
2. Self
3. Loving Relationships
4. Finances
5. Career / Work
6. Social / Fun
7. Learning & Personal Development
8. Contribution to Society
In the ring, solid footing and being grounded are the basis of success, and the same can be said for success in life. When all aspects of who we are balancing out, we are stable, confident, and feel empowered to act.
Not only that, but the impact of our actions is far superior to when we are unstable and uncertain.
We are able to do more with less, preserving precious energy that is responsible for how far we can go in life and how many rounds we endure in the ring.
These next couple of weeks will be filled with plenty of personal growth from our Fighters as we delve into various exercises and work on a 90-day plan to not only analyse our present reality but also make way to form a new reality for ourselves.
Stay tuned for more updates as we progress through this eight-week challenge and be sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram to keep up with our Fighters’ journeys.
